Alice Cooper in Washignton
Well it's Monday and I have survived another concert weekend - this time it was Alice Cooper in Tacoma, WA (3.5 hours south of Vancouver)
We drove to the concert hall to check out the venue. I didn't have tickets so was hoping to find some there. He was sold out for both nights Friday and Saturday. What to do now ?

Went to some malls and the Olive Garden for dinner and I tried to figure out what to do. Found a hotel near Casino where he was playing. Begged with the front desk for a cheaper rate but instead they upgraded us to a Suite. Nice - 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 tvs and 2 king beds. Should be great for the wife and kids while I take off to the show. I drank a few beers in the room and then walked over to the Casino. Couldn't find anyone selling tickets easily. One guy saw me looking for a ticket and he was too and he found someone selling a pair so we each got one at face value at $35.
I had 45 minutes before the show so quickly drank another 3 beers. Went inside and saw they sold beer in there too - score !. Bought more beer and brought them to my seat. I was in Row 8 over to the side but wanted something better. I just walked to the 2nd row in the center where 2 girls had a seat free beside them. I was in and having fun.
Alice played all his best tunes (Schools Out, Only women bleed, Billion dollar babies, No more Mr.. nice guy etc..) and the sound was great. Played for 2 hours. Girls beside me took a liking to me and wanted to buy me drinks but I passed :) I did go buy myself some more though during a mellow song. I had a disposable camera which I hope to develop in the coming weeks. Took about 8 pics.
Played some blackjack after the show and won $15. Bought more beer. Mumbled with the folks selling shirts but didn't get one.
When I was leaving I saw that the buses were just leaving so I hung around waiting. I had my Sharpie pen and paper and camera just in case. Well the bus just rolled on by ignoring me. I noticed the plates though were the same as the bus outside my hotel. Alice is staying there !! I thought - well I ran as fast as I could the 3/4 mile to my hotel. Not a good thing to do when you've been drinking like I was. I was hurting by the time I got there and just missed him going into the hotel :(
So I went upstairs to my room and got more beer from my fridge and brought it down to the lobby and sat there drinking and talking to security hoping that Alice would show up. Well he didn't. One of the people in the tour showed up around 2am and said - "go to bed - Alice is asleep and not coming down". Well, after wiping the big 'L' from my forehead, I realized I was just some drunk fan in the lobby probably causing concern to the staff and security.
The next morning I really wanted to see Alice but couldn't wait any longer for him to wake up and even though I found out he was on the 6th floor by following other band members, I decided it was time to move on.
So we packed up and went to the Tacoma zoo and shopped in the evening. We then went to the Seattle zoo on the Sunday and shopped some more. Both kids got sick and Haley was very fussy on the way home. sigh.

'til next time
